The island of Formentera is located in the Mediterranean and is part of the Balearic archipelago. Together with Ibiza, it forms the Pitiusas Islands, the two islands are only 2 nautical miles (3.9 km) apart, but the two ports are about 10 miles (19 km) apart
Formentera does not have an airport and is therefore only accessible by sea from the nearby island of Ibiza, which can be reached by air or by sea from various ports on the peninsula: Valencia, Barcelona and Denia.
The maritime transport company Balearia (www.balearia.com) also directly connects the port of Denia to that of Formentera. From Barcelona and Valencia, you can reach Ibiza and from there embark again for Formentera.
Ibiza is now a very important airport and is extensively connected with many European cities. In the winter months, you should consider making a stopover in Madrid, Barcelona, Palma, and Valencia. In the summer months, you can find direct flights mainly with low-cost airlines such as Ryanair, Easyjet, Vueling, Meridiana, Neos, and many others. In the high season, however, even airlines like Ita, Iberia, Lufthansa, Airberlin, Eurowings, and many others offer direct flights. The great offer is completed by numerous charter flights
Once you land in Ibiza, you can reach the port by taxi in 10 minutes at a cost of about €18.00, or by bus in about 30 minutes (or more during heavy traffic) at a cost of about €3.60 per person. The ferry company Trasmapi, with which we have an agreement and which you can book at discounted prices through our website, offers a free bus with online purchase. You can find the schedules by looking at line 10 at this link: www.ibizabus.com
